TheTitle I Academic Achievement Award program recognizes only schools receiving federal Title I funds for socioeconomically disadvantaged students. The schools must demonstrate that all students are making significant progress toward proficiency on California's academic content standards. These standards define the knowledge, concepts, and skills students are expected to acquire at each grade level. It is designed to improve the academic achievement of disadvantaged students. Ocean View has six Title I Academic Achievement Award Schools. |

Educators and students in a NASA Explorer School become involved in the excitement of NASA research, discoveries and missions through participation in engaging NASA learning adventures and scientific challenges. The NASA Explorer School (NES) project links educators and students to resources and facilities that are normally beyond reach in the public school system. This direct contact plays an integral part in impacting individual students and entire school communities. NES connects NASA to communities at a personal level that allows students, teachers, parents, administrators and the local community to experience and interact with NASA. Ocean View is proud to have a NASA Explorer School as one of our outstanding schools. |
